Cycling related injuries
Cycling related injuries include knee problems, back problems, shoulder problems and digestive issues.
It started off treating members of my cycle group who over the years had various problems resulting from overuse, crashes and bad positions on the bike. Being a keen amateur cyclist myself I understand the mechanics of cycling and have a real interest in bike set-up and position. Now I'm having trouble keeping up with those same cyclists!!
I can assist you by giving effective treatments, using both acupuncture and massage, to get over your injury and back on the bike. I can also give advice on bike riding position and how to stop overuse injuries. Alternatively, if you have a big event I can give treatments to ensure your at your optimum.

Examples of cycling injuries I have treated
- Client A hit a car which resulted in back injuries leading to sciatica and not being able to straighten. Funnily enough he could still ride ok but when off the bike could not walk or stand with a straight posture. I systematically released tight and bound muscles and strengthened the area of injury resulting in him regaining mobility and he is now pain free.
- Client B suffered from two car crashes seriously bruising one side of the body resulting in lower back pain and pain down one leg. After 4 sessions of muscle release in the lower back, thighs and abdomen he was back to full strength on the bike and pain free.
- Client C suffered from chronic neck and shoulder pain leading to twice weekly headaches that resulted from bad posture on the bike. After releasing the shoulders and neck I then assessed her position on the bike and gave exercises to ensure the shoulders did not lock up again. This took 2 sessions and she has been pain free since.
- Client D who cycled 3 to 4 times a week suffered from lateral knee pain. Pain resolved after releasing tension in that side of the body; especially the thigh and calf and ensuring her seat was at the right height.
- Client E suffered from deep pain in the calf. After releasing the deep tight calf muscle and tension in the buttocks and adjusting the cleat angle the pain was resolved.
- Client F who was a dedicated cyclist suffered from Plantar Fasciitis. An old football injury that injured the ankle meant the clients gait was affected which in turn produced knots in the calf. Releasing the knots in the calf and treating the area of pain resolved the Plantar Fasciitis in two treatments.
